I have a story to tell..

When I was 17, I was lucky enough to be selected as a 6th form leader for a High School camping trip to Mayor Island. The selection, of course, had nothing to do with the fact that I had demanded such a position with the teacher in charge. It also had nothing to do with the fact that he was also the dance troupe teacher, and I was his chief choreographer and dance lead :P Regardless of that status, he decided that I was fit for the job of bossing the 4th formers about.

The only way to the Island is by boat. The poor wee 4th formers all got shoe-horned into a ferry, whilst the 6th formers (well, 2 of us) got top placing on a Tri-marang. Score! we decided to save the engine and sail the 4 hours. By the time we arrived with sun kissed shoulders – all wind swept and interesting from the sea breeze – and bid farewell to our Dolphin escort, the ferry was unloaded and camp was set up. Our timing was impeccable ;)

I could tell you many stories of this camp, but one in particular stands out.

A friend of mine was up in Auckland a wee while ago.. April.
I managed to slink off with him a couple times (once with the Canon club) and shoot a few things, and learn his technique. We were out at Murawai, up at the Albany Mall, under the Bridge, and a North Shore BEach
The photos I took are on his camera, so I don’t have any to show just yet.
But I do have what he shot of me..

His name is Brent Williamson – and he’s for hire ;)

Here is his site..

State Of The Nation

And here are some of what he shot with yours truly featuring :D

And here is one I took when I did have my camera – I was trialing motion blur with a fidgety Husky.

Arf!

I wanted to take the husky home :P

So, I have had a few folks ‘kindly’ asking me to update my site. I’m wondering, if perhaps, it’s a little to do with the fact that I haven’t blogged anything since nigh on a year ago..

So, I’m going to cheat again. I have been updating, but it’s all been photos in the gallery ;)

Here’s a few..

I went to Sydney for work. I’d never been there before, and luckily for me, a little bit of time was put aside for seeing that famous opera place..

I also sat down at West Haven Marina one winter morning, at 6:30am until the sun was well up, and got these..

I feel the urge to blog, but I am lacking inspiration as to what to blog about.
I just know that’s it’s already nearing 1am, and guess what, I’m still awake!
Nothing is worrying me, no stress is prevailing to keep me insomniatic ( <- iKirstism ;) ). I’m just awake.
I do know, that if I climb the stairs to my room, all I will do it watch one of my many girly flicks until slumber prevails. At this point in time, that feels like I’m wasting precious writing time. Yep, I am back into my writing.
I have been scrawling on screeds of scraps of paper, endless post it notes and business cards.
I’ve been promising myself, that one day I’ll actually transfer those scrawlings onto blog or actual note book. But so far I have failed. Oops!

Such is the life of iKirst. Here are a few of the recent happenings..
