I feel the urge to blog, but I am lacking inspiration as to what to blog about.
I just know that’s it’s already nearing 1am, and guess what, I’m still awake!
Nothing is worrying me, no stress is prevailing to keep me insomniatic ( <- iKirstism ;) ). I’m just awake.
I do know, that if I climb the stairs to my room, all I will do it watch one of my many girly flicks until slumber prevails. At this point in time, that feels like I’m wasting precious writing time. Yep, I am back into my writing.
I have been scrawling on screeds of scraps of paper, endless post it notes and business cards.
I’ve been promising myself, that one day I’ll actually transfer those scrawlings onto blog or actual note book. But so far I have failed. Oops!

Such is the life of iKirst. Here are a few of the recent happenings..

The last few months have been beyond chaotic. My original flatmate, Froste, went and bought himself a bloody house. How dare he! hah!
He’s allowed, and good on him, I say. However, I love this place and staged a sit in so I didn’t have to move, too…. ;)

For a while, I had some temporary flatties, but now have a domestic god on the premises. Within a day of the temp folk moving out, he was in. The alarm code was changed (I did that, I figured out how to do it all by myself *beam*) and locks changed. New bolts were put on the doors, and monitoring with an alarm company in full swing

I have not had to cook anymore than once, in the last 3 months. Said new domestic god prefers to cook as a wind down from the working day. Fine by me :D. He also is pretty pedantic with having the place clean and tidy, which is the ultimate. Maybe he’s gay? :P

I jest.. I know he isn’t. I’ve known him for 10 years

He came home last night, after babysitting my sisters kids for a bit, with the story of all stories. My sister lives on a 600acre farm. Her old neighbour (Steven) visited Steve (my flatty), and Kevin (my sisters hubby), with a shot gun and clay pigeons. For a good 20minutes they shot at the wee clay beasties, then turned to bottles on the fence.

As the dark had settled in for the evening, the three lads suspected company had arrived. But no lights from vehicles shone through the windows. Next thing they knew, the house was surrounded by firearm wielding officers. A local had called the police after hearing the gun shots. Hah!
All parties saw the funny side. The tallest of the police was bemused at the fact that it was a kiwi, Englishman, and Irishman that had caused the ruckus. He even suggested that he could feel a joke coming on. hehe.

Other news!

I got myself a new job as a sales rep, July 2006. Finally I was officially allowed to drive around all day, and not have to come up with creative reasons for getting out of the office. Sadly, I kind of got over that job fairly rapidly. I initially thought it was just the repping thing and me were not a well suited partnership. But I’ve since decided I was just not suited to what I was selling.

Once I let it be known that I was on the lookout for new employment (August ‘07), I ended up with a veritable smörgÃ¥sbord of rep jobs on offer. Lucky offer #7 came in after I was already two thirds of the way through the interview process with the first job on the table. It did wonders for my self worth. As luck would have it, the 1st job I knew of, that was on the 1st day of interviewing for any, and my 1st choice… which subsequently ended up being the one with the longest process, and needed the most preparation for, is the one I ultimately got. Psychometric testing and all. It took a month, from go to whoah. I start in 20 days :D

I’ve also been to a few concerts. Guns ‘n’ Roses - where my inner bogan was let out for the night. Gwen Stefani - where I felt incredibly old. Danny Bhoy - where I roared with laughter at the comedic stylings, and drooled at his looks and demeanour. The Cut - an amazingly good NZ theatre drama. And a few flicks. I have a few more shows coming up prior to Christmas, and several Christmas functions to attend. And on top of that, possibly a trip abroad in the very early new year.

I’ll quit the rambling for now. It is hard to get back in the swing of making things flow. So disjointed drivel is a given.

Until the next spout, and hopefully more interesting one… take care

x

Oh, PS - its 6:51 the next day. I did get to sleep before.
PPS - The title is plagerised from a current favourite song by Mr Rob Thomas :D
