God help me – I’ve become an addict!
It’s Saturday night and I’m geeking. Though it is rather nice to have a night in, and alone at that.
I’ve somehow managed to master the art of keypress ringtones into my cell phone.
I’ve been messing around for the last while (too afraid to admit how long) composing my own stuff….and I am musically challenged!
Wonders will never cease :o )

The next mission (yeah, laugh at me if you will) is to master Dreamweaver.
My entire site is about to move from its’ humble homestead dwellings.
I know this sounds like peanuts to those of you who have been messing around with website creation for years, but to me it’ll be a massive conquest.
I’ve only ever tinkered around a little with Front Page, and wouldn’t know the first clue on how to ftp stuff to a site.
I hear dreamweaver makes it kinda easy to do, but c’mon, I’ve only known how to use site builders. I like to cheat (I think I’ve said that before).

The other plus is ikirst.com will _finally_ point to a site.. my site! :o )

I’m a little excited. This is finally my geekdom crossover. And heck, if I can do it anyone can. Brilliant!
There’s hope for us netically retarded folks yet! (by the way, I make up words. Better known as kirstisms or woodyisms).

Hoorah for me :o )

So, since the 8th I’ve been trying to lose a pound or two for my Snow Slapper belt.. er, dress. Trouble is, my entire wardrobe is too big for me now. I guess I should wear the clothes and not the cupboard eh…..oh, the cheese! Hehe :o P

My work has shifted dramatically in another direction, and it’s all good. Travel is coming up very shortly.
I’ve also enlisted the help of a mate, Si, to install some new PCs ’cause the ones my co-workers had to use were shockers! He thinks it’s just a day’s work, but we’re expanding and will need his expertise again soon.

I’ve completely lost Wednesday. A mate, Pete, stayed one night.. I think it was Wednesday. We hung out at his place for a bit before catching up with some other friends out south. Then bummed around my place to the wee small hours of the morning. He slept; I watched random dumb movies on TV. Insomnia is a bitch.

Thursday saw me piking from work. I woke up with a killer headache and let work know I was going to sleep it off before heading in. To which they decided I wasn’t going to come in at all. Stay home? Ok, if you insist :o ). I hung out with my sister and niece instead.

That evening an old friend from Wellington came to visit. We polished off some Vodka watched a couple of DVD’s, yacked about old times, and listened to music. I guess that sounds rather boring, but we both had fun none the less :o ) I sent him on his merry way on Friday morning as I hiked my way to work.

I was expecting a nice cruisy day, but found that the place apparently comes to a stand still when I’m not there. That statement isn’t an attempt at egoism (woodyism hehe), they are actual comments from two of my clients. Made me feel good anyway. So, the day was crazy from the minute I walked in the door, and zipped by exceptionally quickly. To the point I have two boxes of work sitting in front of me as I type this…taunting me with their very existence. I don’t have to bring work home. I just figured if I do, then I have more time to stuff around at work. Sounds a little backwards huh. I’m not normal!

During Friday, a friend told me that I was going to the movies with them that evening. Not asked, told. Fine by me.
Charlies Angels, Full Throttle. This movie is as cheesy as xXx but I loved it. Especially all the stuff referring back the sad 80’s era. We were all supposed to go clubbing after but that didn’t happen. I got home at a nice reasonable hour, right before I turned into a pumpkin, which is a first.

I decided that a full day home was in order for Saturday. And now, here I sit.
Bar one visitor, Ross, it’s been pretty much just Sammy and I ruling the roost.

So, I guess my adventures this week aren’t all that appealing, but I’m enjoying my life.

It’s 3:15am now, so I better bid you all adieu for now.

Oh, wait! I have the best news for all you 80’s kiddo’s out there. As I’ve been writing this post a buddy of mine has been downloading a Commadore 64 emulator.
Oh, the memories of the old 3.5″ floppy, the tape drive, the motherboard inside the big fat keyboard, all hooked up to the TV, the beginner coding (BASIC)…..

10 print “I am not normal”
20 goto 10

He keeps popping up on ICQ exclaiming proudly which games he has managed to find (157 so far).
Here are some examples, see if you recognise any…… Mission Impossible, Archon, Outrun, Commando, Winter and Summer Games, Beach Head, Miami Vice, Defender of the Crown, Pengo, Qbert, Snokie…..
but best of all….Monty On The Run, Who Dares Wins and Spy Vs Spy!!!

Ahh, nostalgia. It’s a beautiful thing.

Till next time :o )

PS: I think I can safely say it’s Sunday now, it’s 4:20am. The sooner I boot this site builder the better.
It constantly has has hissy fits on me when I try to publish stuff…*pout*
